Friends of Pastoralists is a local non-profit making organization established and registered in Kenya. FOP seeks to complement community and government development efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable livelihoods through natural resource management, improved access to health, water and sanitation, climate change, education, conflict mitigation, natural resource management, livestock and agriculture production. We recognize the need to work with women, adolescent girls, youth, elders and marginalized communities for inclusive development.


Our History

 

Mabati Drive

"Mabati Drive" is an initiative by Friends of Pastoralists (FOP) aimed at improving living conditions in rural Kenya. Through this program, FOP donates iron sheets to help improve, replace, or build houses for less fortunate families in the counties where the organization operates.

Education and Mentorship

Through ''Tusemezane'' an online program provide the space for whole-person development while connecting generations in a meaningful mentoring relationships.

Health and Economic issues shall improve because the stoves, are Fast, with less smoke emmissions and ofcourse easy to use. and mitigate the adaptation effects of climate change necesssitated by charcoal burning and firewood for cooking.

Amboseli Safari Festival an initiative under Friends of Pastoralists (FOP), is designed to support the organization’s goals and raise funds. Its flagship event is an off-road cycling competition, complemented by a variety of field activities.
